Futuremark today released a new version of its 3DMark benchmark software. The new version 3DMark06 integrates more extensive use of Shader Model 3, including High Dynamic Range rendering, and makes use of the capabilities of dual-core processors. For the first time, the benchmark offers separate tests for CPUs and graphics in an effort a universal performance evaluation tool for PC. Read more

ASUS is showing an overclocked version of the dual-GPU HD3870 X2 card based on ATI's graphics chips. Its EAH3780X2 TOP/G/3DDHTI/1G features slightly increased GPU and memory clock speeds. Read more
