Has anybody got wake on LAN (WOL) working on a Tyan 1854?

I am running ver. 1.07 version of the BIOS and have WOL turned on in the
BIOS.
The other relevant hardware is a Netgear FA312 NIC card, and an Antec power
supply model PP-253X, which supports ATX 2.01.

I have the WOL cable connected from the NIC card to the WOL header on the
mobo.

The problem is that when I power off the system, *everything* gets powered
off, including the NIC. The way it should work, of course, is that the NIC
stays powered while the rest of the system is powered off.

Any help appreciated.
