I don't have time to read tons of posts; however, I have a problem with my Durabook. I bought it new in June, lost a key and then the screen was damaged the end of September and I called the Tech Support people and they took the information and assured me I would be getting the materials to ship it in with instructions of what to send with it for repair. To date (12/11) I have received nothing and I called a second time about 3 weeks ago and they confirmed my first phone call and they were going to follow-up and still have received nothing and I still have my expensive laptop sitting here unusable with a 2 year warranty that I assume they are waiting for it to run out. Does anyone have any suggestions??? I need my computer fixed since I really need it to use for my work but I am getting no where with the company. :(

Start asking for higher ups, supervisors, managers, CEO's! Anyone besides customer service.

Start writing letters, and keep up with the phone calls. Harass the shit outta em, don't let them forget you!

A friend of mine's Yahoo account got hacked and someone has used her credit card and name to set up a phishing site (ON YAHOO). She's was contacted by a detective from CA who uncovered the fraud over 1 week ago. Trying to get the site taken down.

THERE IS NO LIFE PERSON WITHIN YAHOO WHO HAS EVER RESPONDED BACK TO HER.

She's been getting automated replies for 1 week - following EVERY single link on the Yahoo site dealing with fraud/phishing/identity fraud.

Read traffic below.

This is going to New York Time, WSJ, CNN and EVERY other news outlet. There is a GREAT Story here about all the big ones Yahoo/Microsoft/AOL and even the might Google who clamor about security, but when it comes time to act - there is NO one there to take action. Only auto-replies......

Read below. This is NOT a fake.

This seems hopeless, Michael. I can't figure out how to get this website
taken down.

I have tried to call the detective in California who originally let me know
about his site, and the trooper who I filed a complaint with also has left
several messages. The Detective hasn't reached either of us.

Clearly, someone used my name, and address, as well as my credit card, I
assume, as some point to set this all up. Do I have the right to at least
find out from Yahoo what credit card was used? Or if it was one of my credit
cards? Wish I could speak with someone there.

Amy

Hello,

Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Mail.

We would like to be able to fully evaluate your complaint and take
appropriate action under our Terms of Service. Unfortunately, since the
transaction took place outside of Yahoo! it may not be appropriate for
us to take action on an account without sufficient information. For
this reason, we ask individuals who submit reports about abuse to
provide us with as much information as possible.

Please note that many web sites that include online forms in which
Internet users may enter information (e.g., name, email address, etc.),
do not verify the email address of the person filling out the form.
Often, they just provide a place directly on the web site to input an
email address. The person entering the information can then provide
their actual email address or, potentially, a fake email address, or
that of someone else. In cases of web site abuse like the one you're
reporting, it can be difficult for Yahoo! to determine whether or not
the owner of the "@yahoo.com" account was actually involved.

If you have had correspondence with the Yahoo! account in question,
please forward an unedited copy of the unsolicited message including
full Internet headers and an unedited copy of the message body. For
more information regarding headers, please visit:

http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail [...] ig-11.html

At this time, we will need you to forward a copy of the message, as
opposed to sending it as an attachment. Due to security purposes, our
custom messaging system is unable to access attachments.

If you think you may be a victim of fraud, you may contact the Internet
Fraud Complaint Center, your local postal inspector and/or the Federal
Trade Commission at:

https://www.ifccfbi.gov/

http://www.usps.gov/websites/depart/inspect

http://www.ftc.gov/ftc/complaint.html

It may also be appropriate to contact your local law enforcement
officials (through a non-emergency number).

More information on fraud can be found at:

http://www.fraud.org/welcome.htm

Yahoo! takes such reports seriously and we will be happy to conduct a
thorough investigation upon receipt of any additional information from
you.

Please let us know if you still need assistance so I may assist you
further.

Your patience during this process is greatly appreciated.

Thank you again for contacting Yahoo! Mail.

Regards,

Jericho

Dear Yahoo.com,

I have tried to contact you via phone and via email several times. The
lack
of some method of contacting a real person at Yahoo is extremely
frustrating
and unnerving.

The situation is that someone has registered safetypayments.com with you
under my name fraudulently. I want the website shut down immediately.

I work in public relations and will be writing to the New York Times,
the
Hartford Courant and other media about the flagrant lack of mechanisms
for
contacting proper personnel at Yahoo who can help people like me (who
have
been fraudulently represented) IMMEDIATELY.

I have reported this to the police and have been in contact with a
detective
who is dealing with a case related to this. Their contact information
is
below.

Police: Trooper St. John (860) 824-2500

Detective John Minn (714) 738-6880

Please respond ASAP.

Amy Wynn
