Who can help me ? Naked Mobo with P4 and 256 MB DDR on it.
The Mobo sometimes doesn't boot or hangs a while after start : for
example i can then see "NV RAM...". Sometimes it's possible to get into
the bios. But after some seconds the screen hangs.
I tried another PSU but got the same problem.
When the system goes so far i can hear one beep.
When I don't use it for some day, it seems to go further but hangs a
little late.
Sometimes it shuts down after a while (during boot).

I have an older version of that mobo, the P4S5A2 (Socket 423 with a
Socket 478 adapter), and like my K7S5A Pro, certain PC2100 modules
(Kingston ValueRAM w/ no-name chips, K-byte with Spectek chips) showed
errors when tested with MemTest86 or Gold Memory, unless I slowed the
memory bus to 200 MHz (no other settings helped), but they worked fine
with a K7VTA3 v. 8.

Thanks for the answer.
We found the reason yesterday : the support of the cpu fan was broken
at one side. The cooling of the CPU was insufficient and it shuts down
to prevent its death. It's very difficult to find a new support but we
replace the whole heatsink with fan and support. The Mobo is now
running perfectly
