Hello!

Can I have two 512mb/333mhz ddr sticks on my k7s5a mb (total 1024mb)?
I think it's ver 1.0 (bios 25-Oct-2002 or sth like it)

I have an athlon xp 2200+ (13,5*133mhz=1.79mhz) and one 512mb/333mhz
(PC2700) working on 266mhz (2*133mhz=266mhz), noname I think! (two ddr slots
and two sdram slots on mb; can't work all together)

Q1: Is more than 512mb (1gb here) supported by k7s5a ver 1.0?
Q2: If it is, should memories be exactly the same?

Thanx
Kostas

The board will support 2 512 meg pc2700 sticks. I suggest you
manually set the memory timings if you have any problems. Use
memtest86 to be certain your memory is working correctly:

as per the book,
you can use up to 2 512meg stick of ram as long as they are PC133 or
DDR2700 with no combination of PC and DDR

If you are running Win98, you will need to add this line in the System.ini
file under the [vcache] header.

MaxFileCache=512000
