Okay-

I just got a 9CJS, running with 3.2 P4, 2 x 512 Corsair XMS (matched)
and 2 160GB Samsung S-ATA hardrives. It's been two days and I can't
get the system to boot with both S-ATA drives connected to the board.
Both connecters are good, both cables are good and both drives are
good. I've flashed the Bios to the most recent (05 11 2004) and
still no luck. I can run the system fine on one drive plugged into
either port but it absolutely will not get past the first POST screen
with both hooked up. Help.

I`ve never used a sata drive yet but heres an "uneducated" so probly
worthless guess.........

could it be that you have to attatch one SATA drive boot up and then load
the sata drivers

then attatch the other one?

might be worth a try?

Well... I thought that the BIOS was supposed to fix this issue. I
downloaded the S-ATA drivers from Intel, but they say to install
using the F6 utility, which I don't seem to have on this machine, so
I downloaded THAT, but I don't know how to install it...

I have XP loaded on one drive and left the other one blank for now.
What next?

as far as I can tell from the 9cjs manual you have to press F6 when you
actually INSTALL xp

maybe you are going to have to do a reinstall of xp

they say in the manual to copy the drivers to a floppy and then install from
the floppy

watch out as you install xp as it comes up at the bottom of the screen
telling you at what point you do the f6 thing!

"press F6 to install 3rd party drivers" or something like that

I`d like to know too as the latest version seems to be version 6 which has a
date of 25th Feb 2004
