I've got a weird problem with a SA6R board and wonder if you have
encountered it before.
Abit SA6R
Mushkin PC133+ memory
PIII 1Ghz Coppermine
1 IBM DeskStar 40gb drive connected as master in IDE1
Enermax 450 watt PS
There is more, but is irrelevant in this situation.
When I power down the system, it would not power back up.
I checked everything out, and it seemed ok.
Pulled the MB out of the case, placed on a non-conductive surface, and
hooked up just the processor, 1 stick of memory, 1 harddrive, and the
PS. Tried to poer it up, still no good.
I decided to try something, and shorted pin 14 on the PS to a ground
pin, and boom, the system booted up and runs perfectly. Pull the
jumper off, and the system continues to run without a single problem
until I power it down.
Somehow, it looks like the MB is not sending the power good signal to
the PS so that it will turn on
Any suggestions on what this problem is??
Thanks,
Daniel Belton

I gotta admit that it's been a while since I posted that gem. Surely you
and Humpin need all the bandwidth you can muster!
Gotta ask, though.... ”””Singles Group!!! It's only been a few months
since you died and *ALREADY* she's chatting with a Singles Group?
But it's very good of you to haunt her while she's cyber-searching for a new
beau.

p.s. I've made some minor progress retouching the photo of Qed and his twin
sister that Amir posted earlier in the week. It's been quite a chore
researching the shades of grey in Amir's original to approximate the
colorization to apply to their features and dress. I will note, however,
the his sister (on the left) has an avid fascination with mauve lipstick as
she radiates her charm with her one green and one blue eye. I'll post
updates as the anthropological research and dig from the remains of their
original birth pit continues to uncover additional details.

Mmm, Chambers allows both, Qed, but the main entry is under "swap,"
suggesting that that spelling may be preferred - YMMV. I certainly
spelt it as "swap" when I was a kid (no, not the capriform kind...)
long before computers were with us. Etymology suggests it's from
Middle English "swappen" (which would support the "swap" spelling) or
may be connected to "sweep" or "swoop," in which case all bets are
off. ;-)

Chambers is generally considered the best single-volume English

obtw ...
the "VJ" isnt quite a 'gallery' ...

Why the sudden obsession with the Villa Joy Brothel?

Yes, I gathered that, Qed. However, surely you could refer to the
collection of pictures as a "gallery?" As to what sort of gallery,
perhaps it might be best not to speculate...

It's probably a failed IC in the 5v/3.3v standby circuit....
If there is no standby voltage present, it can't turn on with the "PO" switch...
An easy test is to hook up an (wired) optical mouse, with the ATX on but the computer
off, the mouse should be lit ?
