Ok so any way i just OC'ed my rig to 3.6 from 2.8 stable Using the motherboard overclock software it came with was runing 3d vantage and at somepoint it shuted down no sound tried to boot nothing reset bios and battery didn't wait 30 i think i was way out of my head ;) so i like tried things tried changing ram slots any way i noticed that when i turn on the power and click the button the red light of the ventilators turns on and than falters they are connect directly to the motherboard so if it does start i think that the power supply is good ;p and since the network light when i plug it in is on i think the motherboard is still alive since it is seeing the light of the network and i took out the ram looked it under nothing burned looks pretty so it might not be the ram IS there a chance that the CPU burned alone without damage to the other components ? and if so is it possible to RMA a overclocked parts and get new once ? Can they prove i OC'ed it without me telling them ?

Fraud, have you heard of it?

Try resetting the cmos again and leave it a minute then boot it up.

Also, remove everything but the mobo and add other components in one at a time and see if they system powers on with them in.

Fraud yeah like seriously that's a really small overclock compared to thing people pull off with similar rigs problem is Asrock x58 apperently has some problems that need to be adreesed there is a full review on this site.SO i am thinking if i send it back as RMA i would get a brand new one because it costs around 200 euro which would be more expensive to diagnose if it was clocked or not than just sending a new one i don't think asus will be screwing around with the money they have at their diposal....And i found bunch of guys with simlar boards Asrock x58 Extreme which had the same problem it was board nothing else fried so i might be on the clear here if i keep a clear head and think it through and not drop the ball i might get through it without spending more then a 100 euro.

I'm with strangestranger here. disconect all you can. start it up. we're talking just CPU, 1xRAM mobo and GPU.

Also, can we have some specs? In particular the PSU.

Shows dead to me. Anything happening on SemiHardon worth checking out? I've not logged in for a while so not sure if it lives or not.

I spoke to Tom around crimbo, old goat is still a charecter, his latest business ventures really did amuse.

I actually think either of them would make a truly outstanding parents. A combined offspring would however make even Hemingway look like a tea drinking wuss.

Personally I have just left the other to die, dragging it on is just not worth it. Indeed there is no place for that sort of thing now. It is like a police state.

You fried the mosfets.
Don't worry they would burn anyway either if you would oc or not.
Get some serious air movement on them or they will fail again (and yes when they get fried you have quite a big chance that they will take your i7 920 with them...)
Those mobos fail after some high workloads like fly's especially if you have anything better then 920.
Not mentioning that the auto mode will set some enormous voltages... even when not OC'ed.
Probably to cut amperage and heat generation on them, so your best bet with that mobo is to go high on voltage (insane isn't it), especially with the VTT.

Final tought?
The mobo is so cheap because of it's V8 power design, which is rubbish.
shove up 20$ more and get a P6T SE, (or any other mobo that has power phases divided between left and top side of the CPU socket).
And yeah the review on Tom's Hardware is rubbish.
