Hp psc500 cant display toolbox after upgrading to xp

After upgrading to windows xp I find that the toolbox icon is no longer available , so I can't find ink level information. You can't use the installation disc, you have to remove existing software which allowed the toolbox and other software to be installed when using windows 2000.
HP website is any use.
