This guide is mainly to how to download video from YouTube, Google Video, Yahoo and other video download website and burn these stream video files to disk for personal backup, and I just take youtube video as example to give a detailed instruction on how to download youtube video for free and burn youtube video to DVD

And This guide also applies to other video websites as follow video list;
http://www.aimersoft.com/free-download-video-list.html

Part 1. Download Youtube video to computer for free

Although we can learn many ways to download youtube video to pc, in fact some are largely identical but with minor differences, here I mainly sum up two ways:

1. With firfox
2. With free online flv converter;

1.With firfox
If you have Firefox browser, you can follow these steps.
Step1. Install the videodownloader extension. This is a free plug-in for Firefox. It enables you capture streaming video from website. Here is the Download link:
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2390

Step2. After installing videodownloader, restart Firefox. In the bottom right, you'll see a little box. Go to the video you want to download, double click that little box, and select download link. Then you could download the streaming video you want. (Note, you have to rename the file extension from "html" to "flv" )

2. With free online flv converter
Step1. Open this website: http://www.zamzar.com. It's a free online FLV converter.(and there are many other online converter that have the same function such as http://media-convert.com/, http://vixy.net/, etc)

Step2. Then go to YouTube http://www.youtube.com and find a video that you love. Copy the URL that in the Red box. Like this format: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdUUx5FdySs

Step3. Switch to "Download Videos" tab on ZamZa, paste your video file URL to the input box (figure as follow), choose the right format you want. as part two we will talk about how to burn youtube video to DVD, so you can select mpg(dvd format) and convert your video direclty(If you want to edit the video but not burn DVD, AVI is a good choice. And MP4 is fit for iPod, PSP, Zune, Apple TV and other MP4 players. This online converter also can rip audio to MP3.) enter your email address to receive converted file, then click "convert" to start conversion

Step 4. After the conversion finished, check out the mailbox to get the video please.

Note:You can not convert the big video files using free online converters. It is up to 100MB. And the quality of the output files is just so so.

Part 2. Burn Youtube video to DVD
To backup Youtube video to DVD, you need the thirty party software to burn DVD, Nero and Roxio both are nice DVD burner software but they only support few formats, and costs too much, here I highly recommend another software called Aimersoft DVD Creator, it can easily convert all popular video formats (AVI, MP4, MPG, MPEG, 3GP, WMV, ASF, RM, RMVB, DAT, MOV, FLV, etc) to DVD and burn DVD movie played on portable and home DVD players, nay the strongpoint of Aimersoft DVD Creator is its powerful editing function, you can make the beautiful transition effects and a customizable menu before you start to burn the DVD.

You can free download Aimersoft DVD Creator from its official site:
http://www.aimersoft.com/dvd-creator.html

The video downloaded from YouTube is flv video format, with Aimersoft DVD Creator, you don’t need to convert YouTube video to MPEG 2 for DVD, and it can do the whole job with just a few steps

Note: you need a DVD Burner to burn DVD, so make sure your DVD Drive has DVD+RW or DVD-RW symbol

Step 1.Organize your slideshow
Click the 'Load file' button to load the youtube video files you want to burn. Then drag & drop the loaded files from the Collections pane to the slideshow storyboard to start organize your slideshow. You can sort the order of the video files in a slideshow by drag them in the storyboard. Click the Add Slideshow button (the first button from the left above the storyboard).

Step 5 Start Burning
After you finish the four steps above, click the Burn tab to prepare for burning your project. If you want to burn your project directly to the DVD disc you have inserted in your DVD-ROM, you can just select "DVD" in the "Burn to" field, specify a temp folder (used to save the generated temporary files), select your DVD drive and burning program (either built-in or your own burning application), select, select your TV Standard and output aspect ration, and click Start to burn your project.
If you just want to create DVD files or an ISO file for the current project, you can just select the "DVD Folder" or "ISO file" option, specify a folder to save them, and click Start to generate DVD files or ISO onto your computer.
