What would you say are the best Castlevania games of all time?
My list is...
5. Circle of the Moon (GBA) - awesome difficulty; until OoE, it was the hardest of the Metroidvania's by far.
4. Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse (NES) - an amazing prequel, introduced shape shifting, very hard - totally awesome.
3. Super Castlevania 4 (SNES) - Best control up to that point. Being able to jump and whip in multiple directions, as well as swing using the whip was awesome. Still challenging, a total classic.
2. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PS1/Saturn) - This game's greatness is beyond my meager means of explanation. Suffice to say, it was a world shaker.
1. Akumajō Dracula X: Chi no Rondo (TurboGrafxCD) - The holy grail of Castlevania games. Never lucky enough to even get near the original. Played it later (thanks to the PSP and emulators), was blown away. It truly is the best Castlevania game of all time.
I would love to hear what you think the best Castlevania games are.
