So I have a bit of a conundrum:
I am using a monitor for video on my ps3, but the monitor does not have any audio input or output
I have a pair of nice USB headphones, and would like to use them for game audio.
the ps3, for those who do not know, only outputs game audio from its AV cable or HDMI.
My laptop does not have a line-in (only has USB inputs)

So, I need a way to get a USB headset to receive audio from an AV cable. I know that I can use an RCA to 3.5 adapter to get 3.5mm audio, but how do I get my headphones to receive that sound. As far as I know, there is no way to go from 3.5mm to USB. So Is there then a way to go from 3.5mm to USB input? If so would this setup work? :

PS3 AV ---- ADAPTER to 3.5mm ------ 3.5mm to USB ---- laptop ---- USB headset out

Thanks for the help in advance!

You would need a breakout box something like this but has USB out instead of the standard RCA connectors and optical out.

thanks! I found something similar (a splitter box) with USB out and can now hear my game!
