I loved those games and would love to see a modern version made for modern hardware. PC based of course as I hate bad ports. :)

well, I know where you're coming from with longing for a good remake of an old game.

And we've seen some of them recently, fallout for instance. Jagged Alliance is supposedly in the making by kalypso now. So, perhaps sooner or later some dev will get the right idea. But the main point is, they have to sell it to their CEOs who need to believe that the market is still there for remake of the game.

Unfortunately, space combat sims is a small niche market.

EA can certainly do a re-image of the entire Wing Commander series, but there may not be enough of a target audience to justify tying up resources that could be used to develop a more lucrative game.

I would like the X-Wing and Privateer series to be re-imaged.
