i just aquired an older Compaq Amada E500 Laptop, running XP Pro. IT runs fine but i try to plug in an external moniter into the serial port and the moniter is all snow or fuzzy. i can make out some of the windows stuff but it is not clear.

i changed the standard 60hz to 72 which made it look better but i'm seeing triple items on the screen.

anybody got a fix for this? i tried the video settings for naught....thx jw
