I have an inspiron 8600 that I was considering attempting a mod on, but before I do it, I wanted to solicite some thoughts:

Would it be possible to put an ATI Mobility Radeon 9800 With 256 Megs of ram into this machine? The card itself was originally designed for the XPS series of laptops, but I've found that never stopped people getting the 9600 with a bit of case modding into the older Inspirons. The laptop currently has a Radeon 9600 with 128 and I want that extra juice ;)

It's a $300+ risk so I am curious if anyone took the plunge yet.

If the card has the exact same connection and form factor it should work. I doubt it does though.
