As with everything in life, could be a good move if priced accordingly, I am not really willing to pay $150 for all three chapters, but if they are willing to sell each for approximately $25-30 for a total of $75-90 then that would be worth looking into it. --------------- Anxiously awaiting the Hydra 100 and the Hydra Engine... www.lucidlogix.com |

I'm guessing the first release will have a normal price point of about $50. The two other campaigns will be released for $30 each for a total of $110 which I will gladly Blizzard for all of their hard work. |

as far as pirating goes, i think ppl will buy the first part to get the online campaign, but what incentive is there for pirates to buy the other 2 now?

Well each installment is going to be stand-alone, and each will contain roughly the same amount of content, so I would assume that they'll all cost roughly the same. My guess as of right now is that they'll each be $39.99, but we'll see. Even at the price, and even though I'm angry at the way they're splitting this up, I'll still gladly pay all of that. Starcraft 2 would probably be worth $100 to me even if it was the same length as Starcraft 1. |

If we get 4 times the Starcraft I missions, then I'll gladly pay for three installments. Its better than less content to me. Nice artical and photos Rob. Message edited by IMajorI on 10-13-2008 at 03:33:46 AM |

The [blank]-craft games were all about single player missions for me. I'm not dedicated enough to get really good at issuing real time commands and hot-keying buildings/units, nor am I Korean, so the online gameplay was always out of my league. That said, I'll happily buy 3 games, for full price, to get the entire star craft 2 experience.

Founds pretty nice. Like Organix I'm more into Single player than I am multiplayer and I wouldn't mind if they did go the Dawn of war route as long as we don't have to wait 6-12 months before the next chapter is out. |

Comeon, just release the first one, price it at $65 and make the two later campaigns downloadables, each priced at either free or ~$10. Note how this model worked fabulously for Valve in the case of Team Fortress 2, people are still buying that game long after it's released. You sell more copies, reach out to non-RTS fans, and help the PC platform, it's a win-win solution.

They'll most likely be spaced nearly a year apart.. Considering how big the campaign will be (damn!), this is probably the best choice. --------------- ![]() |
