So I finally decided to try COD4, I bought the game at Bestbuy. The game installs slower then any of my other games, way slower, computer in sig. Well after installing the game it ask to install Direct X pretty sure 9? But I don't know please school me. Thing is I chose to install and it fails to. Do I chose not to install Direct X? And does the version of Vista Sp1 Ultimate I have what DX does it have? It has 10 right, which is backwards compatible with 9? I am pretty new to both 64 Bit Windows and Vista. Any of the game I have do I need to install the Directx?

Please help with my questions.

All games you have to install dx9. It's possible that you could be missing some files for dx.
Download the latest dx9 and update your pc.
It's strange that it won't install from the disk as I've done it numerous times without any issues.
