FlashDisk OpenRAID Stores 880 GB
Winchester Systems is now shipping FlashDisk OpenRAID, which makes use of 12 low-profile 73.4 GB disk drives running at 10,000 rpm to provide 880 GB of storage in a single enclosure. The system is available for fibre channel network attach or SCSI direct attach interfaces. The 82" high FlashDisk cabinet will hold 9 rackmount units and a UPS to store over 7.8 TB in six square feet of floor space. It supports hardware RAID 1, 3, 5, 1+0 and RAID 15. The 880 GB FlashDisk OpenRAID is priced at $55,687 including cables and UPS, which adds up to less than 7 cents per MB.
