Macromedia warns of a highly critical vulnerability in Flash
Computer security researchers have discovered a "highly critical" vulnerability in older versions of Macromedia’s Flash Player. The vulnerability could allow an attacker to change function pointers and thus run malicious code. The vulnerability was independently discovered by two research firms : eEye and Sec Consult.
Flash versions 6 and 7 are affected and while there is no patch for those early versions, Macromedia has told affected users to upgrade to version 8 of the player which his not vulnerable to this attack.
