Fixed Wireless Good to Go
The folks pushing wireless communications are incessantly optimistic, and I have to admit that it would be nice to dig around for news stories from a campground somewhere near Santa Cruz CA rather than being tied to the old desktop box. Here in the States, the FCC will probably grant providers the spectrum they need to make wireless happen. At the Wireless Communications Association (WCA) International show, the commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission declared that she would be "extremely hesitant" to take away spectrum allotted to FBWA (fixed broadband wireless access) and give it to developers of third-generation (3G) wireless networks.
