Finnish boy fined $4000 for posting teacher karaoke performance
Helsinki (Finland) – One Finnish high-school boy is quite a bit poorer after he was fined more than $4000 for posting a video of teacher’s karaoke performance onto YouTube. 15-year-old Toni Vesikko recorded the video at a school party on April 30 and says he did not mean to insult the teacher.
The Nurmes District Court thought otherwise – probably because in the video Vesikko says the teacher was a lunatic. The court fined Vesikko a total of $4,120 for damages, defamation and court costs. The YouTube video had been watched more than 600 times before taken down by Vesikko.
