Feds fighting e-tap limitations
Even while charged with investigating the FBI's Carnivore e-surveillance system, the head of the U.S. Department of Justice has sided with the FBI in that agency's efforts to overturn a recent appeals court decision to limit the scope of government electronic surveillance. An assistant Attorney General invoked drug dealers as the basis of the need for further surveillance powers.
