Feds crack down on software pirates
Authorities in Boston, Mass. have arrested a suspected leader of an international software piracy ring.
Robin Rothberg, 32, is charged with conspiring to violate the copyrights of thousands of computer programs.
Federal officials suspect Rothberg is a "council member" of a group called "Pirates with Attitude." The group's Web site, called Sentinel, alledgedly provides users with bootleg copies of software, including some not commercially available.
The operation - described as one of the longest-running and most sophisticated of its kind - is believed to have members and distribution sites worldwide.
If convicted, Rothberg could face five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
