FCC considers new market for wireless spectrum

The Federal Communications Commission is considering a new market for the U.S. wireless spectrum to support the expansion of the wireless phone industry.

Wireless companies are rapidly running out of space to offer new service due to increasing demand for spectrum, which is required to run all mobile communications devices. Among the FCC's suggestions is a Web site where companies would list markets with unused spectrum, letting other companies lease airwaves for varying lengths of time.
