FCC Approves More Spectrum for Wireless Data
The Federal Communications Commission has approved new radio frequencies that will pave the way for enhanced wireless high-speed data services. In tests in the very highest end of the new approved spectrums, a Hawaiian firm has downloaded full-length movies in 10 seconds. "In the new rules established Thursday, the FCC opened up two broad areas useful for wireless data transmission - one of more immediate potential use, the other likely to have appeal in the more distant future as very high-speed wireless technology advances."
