FCC Approves HTC sale of "Falcon Phone"

by - source: Tom's Hardware

The Federal Communications Commission has approved for sale "The Falcon," a cellphone powered by Microsoft's Pocket PC Phone Edition software, to be sold by High Tech Computer. Since the cellphone uses Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) telephone networks, Sprint PCS and Verizon Wireless will likely be the carriers in the U.S. The Falcon uses Microsoft's Pocket PC Phone Edition software, which allows a user to make calls via a large touch screen, with either their fingers or a stylus, and utilize Outlook information that is stored in the cellphone. It resembles a Personal Data Assistant (PDA) and has many of those features, as well as those of an integrated wireless device/cellphone. Users can make cellphone calls, search the PDA database for Outlook information (names and addresses, calendar, etc.) and surf the Internet, as well. The Pocket PC Phone Edition software cellphone (The Falcon uses this software) can be viewed at the link below.
