Faulty chip discovered in Palm handhelds
A faulty memory chip that could damage information such as telephone numbers has been discovered in a limited number of Palm handheld computers.
Users can visit the company's Web site at www.palm.com to determine whether they should run a diagnostic test or install a software patch to fix the problem in some Palm IIIc and Palm Vx devices. A patch for the Palm IIIxe will be available shortly, company officials said.
