Exigo: Following in the Footsteps of Greatness... Maybe Too Closely? : Pardon Me, Could I Borrow That?

If you ask most gamers to name the best RTS game ever, you would most likely hear one of two answers: something from the Command & Conquer series, or one of Blizzard's "-craft" titles. Well it seems that new developer Black Hole Games may have conducted a poll much like this before making their first title, Armies of Exigo.

Is that a Zerg army I am fighting?
Armies of Exigo is the story of the wars suffered in (and under) the land of Noran. Through breathtaking movie-quality cinematics you learn that three groups are contending with one another for the upper hand. The humans and elves fight against the monstrous orcs and ogres while the third group, called the Zerg, seek to destroy both of them. Okay, the third group isn't really called the Zerg, but they should be. They are actually called "The Fallen", and are skinned with a very similar style. They are a collective of insect-looking creatures that can only build their structures on a purple giger-esque biomass called the "Creep." Okay, you're right again. Its not really called the "Creep" - but the blatant imitation of Blizzard's famous Starcraft race cannot be ignored. It even has a similar tech tree, and a strategic reliance on large numbers of cheaply-produced units.
