Figure 9: The Current System
I feel like I'm getting closer to my goal of an integrated multimedia system, but I'm not there yet. My large movie collection sits on a shelf, I don't yet have an HD feed into my house, and I'm still struggling a bit with keeping my digital libraries in sync between my NAS devices and my other computers. To address these short-comings, I'm keeping my eyes open for the ultimate device that does it all. Every time Apple announces their new products, I keep hoping that they'll duplicate their AirportExpress with a version that does video as well as audio. I want a tiny, low-powered, silent device with open standards. It's not too much to ask!
