Epistar to develop blue-LED chips for seven-inch panel backlighting
LED chipmaker Epistar, which completed an acquisition of United Epitaxy Company (UEC) on December 30, 2005, plans to purchase five more MOCVD (metallo-organic chemical vapor deposition) machines for its blue-LED chip production line, between the second and third quarters of this year, according to the company. Epistar has 80 MOCVD machines at present.
