Envision Peripherals Shows That Big LCDs Can be Affordable
Remember when a 21" CRT used to cost $1,500 ? Remember the high prices of LCD displays when they first came out ? Well, times have changed. Envision Peripherals Inc. has just launched two Windows Vista Premium-certified widescreen format LCD monitors. Envision says the 22" AOC 212Va-1 and 19" AOC 912Vwa-1 are optimized to take advantage of the full range of premium features and benefits found in the new Microsoft OS, especially Windows Vista Premium’s Sidebar feature. The widescreen format also takes advantage of Windows Vista Premium’s Aero Flip, allowing users to navigate between multiple open windows at one time. Equipped with the Digital Video Input w/HDCP interface needed to "unlock" protected HD content, the monitors allow audio and video playback from the high-definition program sources such as HD-DVD and Blu-ray DVDs. Both units also deliver HD 720P/1080i compatibility allowing them to display digital TV programming delivered by Cable, Satellite and other Set Top Boxes equipped with DVI-HDCP. The AOC 212Va-1 and AOC 912Vwa-1 TFT active-matrix widescreen monitors feature an ultra-slim bezel design and offer 1680x1050 and 1440x900 screen resolutions, respectively. The 5ms (typ) response time is intended to ensure better performance when viewing fast-motion video by delivering flicker-free graphics. In addition, they boast 800:1 and 700:1 contrast ratios, respectively. The 22" AOC 212Va-1 and 19" AOC 912Vwa-1 Windows Vista Premium-certified flat-panel displays are available immediately through AOC distributors and channel partners at suggested retail prices of $299 and $189, respectively.
