Philips and Tality will be getting together to provide customers with embedded Bluetooth systems that the companies figure should reduce the time to market for Bluetooth products. The solutions consist of a family of Tality-developed Bluetooth reference modules that use baseband and RF ICs from Philips along with Tality's protocol stack and application profiles. Tality will provide system integration services to give customers a complete product that has Bluetooth wireless connectivity. The modules will also be available for license by customers who want to make a go at designing systems themselves. The first module, measuring 21mm x 15mm, will be released in Q2 2001.
