Irvine (CA) - PCs from $350 and LCD monitors starting at $100 make up the latest slate of products from cost-conscious PC maker eMachines.
Three new desktop computers and three monitors were announced today. They will begin shipping over the weekend, hitting stores during the first week of July.
The low end of the new computers is eMachine’s T3616 desktop. It comes with an AMD Sempron 3600+ processor, 6150SE graphics card from Nvidia, 512 MB of DDR2 memory, and a 120 GB 7200 RPM hard drive. It also comes pre-installed with Windows Vista Home Basic. The manufacturer’s price on the T3616 is $400, with a $50 rebate taking the final price to $350.
Next is the T5062, which has AMD’s Athlon 64 3800+ processor, Nvidia’s GeForce 6150SE graphics card, 1024 MB of DDR2 memory, and a 160 GB hard drive. Up front price for this one is around $450, with a $50 mail-in rebate bringing it down to $400.
The T5230 comes with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ processor, a GeForce 6150SE graphics card from Nvidia, a base DDR2 memory of 1024 MB, and 250 GB of SATA II 7200 RPM hard drive memory. List price on this model is around $500 and has a manufacturer’s rebate of $50.
The T5062 and T5230 come packed with Windows Vista Home Premium. All three come with a DVD +/-R drive, six USB ports, and a built-in 15-in-1 media reader.
Additionally, eMachines announced three new LCD monitors. A basic 17-inch flat-screen CRT starts the list, with a $100 price tag after a $50 rebate. Two flat panel LCD monitors are also in the lineup, with a 17-inch model going for around $170 and a 19-inch for around $200.
