Elsa offroute - one PC for the whole family
The Elsa nX-Stations allows different users to use a single PC simultaneoulsy. The device is a box that hooks up to an Ethernet hub to which you connect a screen, a keyboard and a mouse. The nX-Station uses the "users" in Windows XP, and 2/3/4 individuals can use the same host PC at the same time. It’s obvious that the more users are connected onto the PC, the more the host PC is bombarded with requests, so for four or five users you need at least a Pentium 4 3.2Ghz with 1 GByte of RAM, and it’s not possible to play 3D games or even watch a DVD with a system like this. This solution has its limitations, but especially in situations with children, this could be a good solution, as you control everything that is installed on the computer. This nX-Station costs about $230.
