Makers of Doom developing new mobile phone game
Redwood City (CA) - Electronic Arts is teaming up with id Software and Fountainhead Entertainment to make a new fantasy role-playing game for mobile phones. The game is called "Orcs & Elves" and while not much more detail has been released, it’s a good bet the traditionally opposed fantasy races will fight it out, rather than baking cookies for each other.
Electronic Arts purchased Jamdat Mobile for $680 million back in February. Jamdat produced dozens of mobile phone games and is now a part of Electronic Arts’ new EA Mobile Games division.
Verizon customers will be able to buy the game on 9 May, while other carriers will offer it in July.
