Electronic Arts' pitches Cricket World Cup

Game maker Electronic Arts has announced that EA Sports' Cricket World Cup is now available in North America exclusively through the company's online store at www.eastore.ea.com .

Cricket World Cup for the PC, the officially licensed game of the 1999 ICC Cricket World Cup tournament, was Electronic Arts' top selling PC sports game in India, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom during the tournament in May and June.

EA officials are hoping to overcome U.S. indifference toward the sport, which remains among the most popular pastimes in the nations named above.

Cricket World Cup allows users to play at all the real World Cup stadiums including Lord's, The Oval and Old Trafford. It includes full squad lists from all twelve World Cup nations. Venues include include qualifiers, the Super Six Series or one-day events with variable weather and pitch conditions.

Cricket World Cup for the Windows 95 or 98 is priced at $34.95 plus shipping.
