ECS acquires Uniwill, sets goal of 3 million notebooks for 2007
Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS), a leading motherboard producer in Taiwan, formally acquired Uniwill Computer, a second-tier notebook Taiwanese PC maker, on December 25 and expects its OEM/ODM notebook shipment volume to rise to three million units in 2007, according to ECS. ECS currently has 50% of its total revenues coming from sales of motherboards, 30% from desktop PCs and 20% from notebook PCs, the company indicated.
