Ebay third-quarter profits surge to $255 million
EBay, the world’s largest online auctioneer, said third-quarter profit surged 40 percent, beating analysts’ estimates, after sales in Europe and Asia outpaced growth in the U.S.
Net income increased to $255 million, or 18 cents a share, from $182.3 million, or 13 cents, a year earlier. Revenue rose 37 percent to $1.1 billion, the San Jose, California-based company said today in a statement.
