eBay offers Buffett for lunch
New York (NY) – Ever dreamed of having lunch with one of the world’s richest people ? Now you have your chance because Warren Buffett, the so-called “Oracle of Omaha”, is auctioning off a lunch with him on eBay. The lucky, and probably very wealthy, winner will able to invite six guests for a sumptuous meal at the Smith & Wollensky restaurant in New York.
This is the fifth year that Buffett has held this auction which benefits the Glide Foundation which gives social services to poor and homeless people in San Francisco. Last year’s auction raised $620,000 dollars and the restaurant kicked in an additional $10,000. This works out to about $11 a second for a hour and a half lunch.
The bidding starts today at $25,000 and closes on Friday at 9 PM Central Daylight Time. Bidders must pre-qualify through eBay’s Kompolt service, which requires a short telephone interview.
