Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum Nukes Windows 2000
We're all used to having the occasional Blue Screen of Death when installing software or hardware, but when's the last time you installed an app that absolutely killed your machine? Apparently, Roxio's popular CD Creator 5 Platinum has the potential to do just that to Windows 2000 machines. The problem seems to lie in the Take Two module of the software, which is supposed to enable you to recover data from crashed hard disks. Roxio has acknowledged there are some compatibility problems between Take Two and W2K in a warning on its website . However, since Take Two is installed automatically if you don't choose "Custom Install," it seems like they should be taking out TV ads to warn users. More info can be found at The Register .
