EA signs publishing deal with Harmonix

by - source: Tom's Hardware

Redwood City (CA) - Electronic Arts has formed a new partnership with Harmonix, the specialized game developer behind some of the best selling rhythm and music games.

Harmonix has a lengthy history of corporate partnerships, most memorably its long-running deal with Konami for games like Karaoke Revolution and American Idol. It also used to work on the Guitar Hero series until the rights to that game were sold to Activision.

Harmonix, which was acquired by MTV Networks last September, is now working on its first EA-labeled title. Details about the new game are still under wraps, but in a Gamespot interview, Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopopoulos the EA title is "by far our most ambitious undertaking ever."

Other products in Harmonix’s repertoire include Sony-published Amplitude, Frequency, and EyeToy : Antigrav.
