A Few More Quick Snaps From Day One At E3

by

We stopped by the Capcom booth to get a quick look at Steel Battalion. If you remember we took at look at this game in our article Steel Battalion: A Side Project Breeds Innovation . One of our major complaints about Steel Battalion was the lack of Xbox Live support. Well someone over at Capcom might be reading THG, because Capcom unexpectedly announced a Steel Battalion Line Of Contact which will feature Xbox Live support.

TDK Interactive Media was showing this great Spy Vs. Spy game on the Nintendo Gamecube. While it is difficult to describe this game, what we can tell you is that it was a lot of fun to play. Spy vs. Spy is fast paced sabotage-action at its best. Players employ hilarious spy gadgets and weapons while catching their opponents in clever booby traps. With 12 captivating levels spanning six unique areas, Developed by WayForward, Spy vs. Spy is scheduled to ship Q1, 2004. We believe that it will be available for all three console systems.

No report from E3 would be complete with out something about Doom III. Not much to say about Doom III at the moment, we have an appointment with the Activision people on Friday. Until then we can tell you that we stopped by the Doom III video wall and watched the latest Doom III footage. It seems much improved over the version that we saw at Quakecon last year.

There is so much to see and do at E3 that it is difficult to get it done before heading out of town. In our weekend coverage you can look forward to additional reports on Buka, Ideazon, CSC Games, Gamespy, Philips, EluminX, Midway, Microsoft Studios, Microsoft Xbox, Activision, 1C, and Ubisoft. Beyond that you never know what we might find.
