Focus Enhancements- Shoot Direct To Disk
Focus Enhancements is another company offering direct to disk recording units. Its FS-4 can record to disk and tape at the same time, giving you a greater margin of safety. A built-in shock cache keeps 10 seconds of video. The unit can also be set to time lapse record, say one frame every 10 minutes.
A ninety minute battery is included, but you can purchase a separate 180 minute battery. The FS-4 also comes with a belt clip. Two units can be linked together to double recording capacity.
The FS-4 will be available January 2005 in 40 and 80 GB capacities. The 40GB will sell for $700, while the 80GB model will go for $1595.
