The Core 2 Duo is Intel's second generation mobile dual core. The versions with 2 MB L2 cache carry a T5000 model number, while the T7000 identifies 4 MB versions. If you have to decide between more cache and more clock speed, we'd usually opt towards the faster clock speed: it has an impact on all applications, while larger cache memories might not always improve performance noticeably.
