DRAM makers see Vista delay having minimal impact

With Microsoft announcing a delay for its rollout of the consumer version of its Windows Vista operating system (OS), some analysts have already posted concerns about the profitability of DRAM makers.

However, although Taiwan-based DRAM makers had identified the memory-hungry Vista as being a key driver for DRAM demand this year, they are now saying that the impact of the delay will be minimal, according to comments from Nanya Technology and ProMOS Technologies.
