DOJ to call for "baby Bills"?

The U.S. Department of Justice will call for a breakup of Microsoft, according to sources familiar with settlement talks taking place in Chicago.

A Justice Department spokeswoman dismissed as "inaccurate" the reports of DOJ and state attorneys calling for a breakup to remedy the antitrust case against the software giant.

The talks are being spearheaded by court appointed mediator Richard Posner, chief of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
