Speed is of the essence in communications and it continues to increase as technology companies take the task in hand. In that vein, Diversified Technology let us know about its new ATS1936 Switch Blade board, which features 10G Ethernet transfer speeds.

The ATS1936 is a low cost, highly functional AdvancedTCA switch that complies with PICMG 3.0 R2.0 ECN002 and PICMG 3.1 Option 1 and Option 9. It features three AMC sites for OA&M, firewall, and encryption applications. By separating the Base and Fabric networks, the ATS1936 provides a separate control plane and data plane.

It provides 1Gb Ethernet switching on the 3.0 Base Fabric and the 3.1 Expansion Fabric provides 1Gb/10Gb Ethernet switching. Both of these networks are fully managed with Diversified’s management suite reducing issues integrating your ATCA platforms with the outside world. Both networks support Layer 2 switching as well as Layer 3 routing and IPV6. Production shipments begin Q2/2007. Single piece pricing for the ATS1936 is $5,245, with quantity discounts available.
