DeviceMaster Primo for Single Device Serial-to-Ethernet
Comtrol is now shipping DeviceMaster Primo Serial Port Server (SPS), a new one-port solution for connecting serial devices to Ethernet networks. Primo is the first model in the company's DeviceMaster line of non-programmable connectivity products. Future SPS models will offer Ethernet connectivity for 2-32 ports per device server. Primo enables serial device connectivity to 10/100Base-T Ethernet networks, offers an RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485 selectable serial interface, supports TCP sockets and serial tunneling capabilities, and includes host server software, making the network-connected serial ports transparently accessible and compatible with existing Windows and Linux application software. Comtrol says DeviceMaster Primo enables one-to-one serial device Ethernet connectivity for apps like network management, industrial automation, warehouse control, building security, point-of-sale, console port management, hospital automation, self-serve banking, oil and gas transport, and other automation efforts where you need to remotely access and manage serial devices. It's priced at under $200.
