Buena Vista Games (BVG) today announced Desperate Housewives : The Game. Based on the Sunday night ABC series, the game puts players in the shoes of a new Wisteria Lane resident in a "lifestyle simulation" environment much like The Sims.

Available for Windows PCs, Desperate Housewives : The Game features a storyline structure wherein the player meets and interacts with virtual versions of the characters from the TV show, as well as some new characters. In total, there are twelve missions to accomplish, but the game is open-ended like other life sim games, says BVG.

There is a notable connection between the ABC show and the BVG game. Both companies have the same parent company, Disney. The lead writer for the game, Scott Tobis, is a writer on the show, and Brenda Strong, narrator for the TV show, lends her voice to the game as well.

Developed by Liquid Entertainment, the game carries an ESRB rating of T and a suggested retail price of $20.
