Dell is refreshing its server line and bringing better management software to its cheapest machines - moves that take dead aim at rivals Hewlett-Packard and IBM. Dell is launching two new single-chip servers - the stand-alone PowerEdge 700 and its rack-mounted sibling, the PowerEdge 750. The machines have faster Intel Corp. processors, more memory, bigger hard drives and room for future upgrades.
